2011 Carriage House

This cool vintage Carriage House is elegant, aromatic, and balanced, reminiscent of 2004.  The wines from 2004 are aging beautifully, and we expect the 2011 to do the same.  Before decanting, this wine shows its savory side, pairing DuBrul cherry with cassis, fresh herbs, earth, and subtly integrated oak.  When it opens up, the dark berries, cinnamon, and cocoa shine.  Fine tannins are evident, but not overwhelming.  Low yields in the vineyard mean that we only were able to make 590 cases.
